Coach Ekhoff attended Illinois State University. In 1990, after graduating and marrying his wife, Julie, Coach Ekhoff moved to Parker, Colorado. They have owned and operated Country Financial – Parker office since 1995.
Coach Ekhoff and Julie have a lot of Cardinal and Gold in their closets. Their three children: Nate, Nick, and Addie graduated from Ponderosa, (2011, 2013, and 2016 respectively).
Coach Ekhoff joined the Ponderosa football coaching staff when Coach Cohen was hired as head coach in 2014. Coach Ekhoff finds it very satisfying and rewarding to watch seven current Ponderosa Specialists playing college ball.
The Ekhoff family started the Nate Ekhoff Kicking Scholarship Fund in memory of their son and brother #3, Nate Ekhoff.
