Coach Edwards has been coaching youth and high school football since 1997. Ponderosa is his third high school and comes to us from the Sacramento Valley in California where he worked in the Rocklin and Vista programs. He has been an offensive coordinator as well as a head coach while specializing in the development of servant leader quarterbacks.
A military brat growing up, Coach Edwards played his high school and junior college football in Northern California before finishing his playing career at the University of Northern Colorado. He is married to his wife Becky and together they have three adult children, Sydney, Aydan, and Lyam.
Coach holds a BS in Finance from Northern Colorado and is currently the Senior Director of Operations Finance for one of the largest non-profit health plans in the country. He is also the founder of FirstDown QB Academy and the Papa Steve Camp, where Teamwork Makes the Dream Work and First Downs Make Touchdowns!!
